this week i made my wheel altered project. it was a thin bowl that i altered by pushing and pulling the edges creating somewhat of a wave affect around the sides. hopefully i will be able to glaze it next week. I plan on experimenting with the glazes by mixing colors and trying out different patterns on my wheel altered projects. next week will consist mostly of glazing because i believe 5 of my projects came out of the kiln this week. overall it was a very successful week.

This week I finished my set if three and they are on the kiln shelf waiting to be fired. Even though they aren't all exactly the same in structure the designs are good and I can't wait to see how they turn out . As well as finishing my set of three I also glazed my three bowls for the empty bowls donation. I decided to glaze them in three different colors and then splatter them with black stain. I'm not sure how the black and blue and the black and green will turn out but I'm looking forward to seeing how my experiment turned out.

This week was a very successful one. I completed my three bowls, a mug for extra credit, and one of the best tall projects I have ever made. I am looking forward to firing and glazing them this next week to see how they turn out. I also am planning on making my set if three this week which will consist of three candle holders with designs cut out of the edges. It will definitely be an experiment I just hope they turn out ok!

This week was a very interesting one. I switched into ceramics after school started because the class I was previously in did not suit me very well. By the time I got into the class everyone had already found their place and knew what they were doing. It was kind of difficult for me to figure out what exactly was going on but I got right on the shell and made my first two bowls for the soup drive. I'm not sure if they will turn out ok because on Friday there was not enough time for me to foot them so we have to wait and see this next week. I'm so glad I switchers into ceramics and look forward to spending a third semester with Heidman and all the people in the class.
